An incense wood...

Celui qui ne supporte pas
la fumée ne verra pas le feu.
Proverbe du Mali

An Eau de Toilette
mystical probably, sensual certainly...

This is anything but church incense. With “Oliban” Grisens, the perfumer snatches the age-old sacred resin from the temple to draw it towards more voluptuous territories… Incense wood forms the core accord: this is a natural raw material, obtained by co-extracting incense extract with the essential oil of cedar wood.

Cedar has the special property of producing reactions during the extraction process which modify the smell of the product. The fragrance gives off a powerful, fruity incense note when it opens, before yielding to a warm, balsamic, intensely woody-animalic and cedar base, enhanced with an ambroxan overdose. Mystical, perhaps. Sensuous, certainly.

The incense
Encens, also called olibanum, is an aromatic oleo-gum-resin The first perfumes in history are those that were burnt , which reveals the etymology of the word perfume – “by smoke”.“The procession approaches the temple of titanic dimensions. The idol of the god Jupiter is worn by the priests along the main track. Step by step on a carpet of rose petals and laurel wreath, the scrolls of incense envelop the city with their delicious aroma.” Baalbek IIIth century AD
