Let us stop for a moment on the island of Stromboli: known, frequented and inhabited since Antiquity, its traditional economy was based on typically Mediterranean agricultural productions: olives, vines, figs, and peaches cultivated on the sides of a volcano. This volcano that the inhabitants of the island personify and whose moods they dread and which they nickname Iddu, which means “him” in Sicilian.
